An American prose and verse writer; born in Waterford, O., October 1794; died at Vevay, Ind., Jan. 2, 1857. She has the distinction of being one of the earliest women of the West whose writings have been preserved. She contributed largely to periodicals both in prose and verse. A collection of her writings was published in a volume, "Life Sketches from Common Paths" (1856).
